Today, it is a beautiful day. The sun is shining through the window – warming my belly as I sleep. I ask myself, “Does it get any better than this?”
MMMMM. I could just sleep my day away, but I suppose I should get something done. What is that!!! Mom’s high heeled shoe is in the corner. Nobody is looking! I’ll just move closer, very slowly. I don’t want to attract any attention. GOT IT! Hurry, I’ve got to get under the dining room table. No one will look for me here. This is really good. I can sink my teeth into that toe. And the heel. Scrumptious. ARGH! Caught! How did they notice me under there. I bet that darned cat told on me. Uh oh. Mom looks mad. She’s pretty easy though. I know how to win her over… lower the ears, show her my big brown eyes, sit right next to her… move a little closer… put my head down on her lap…. Stay very still… except for the tail…. Thump the tail on the floor slowly. Thump, thump, thump. She is now scratching behind my ear. “Does it get any better than this?”
I think tomorrow I will try her sneakers….
